My daughter was referred by OUR vet for an ultrasound on her cat. They were able to fit him in pretty quickly. I had to drop him off, because she was working. Before arrival she was pushed to have various other tests run on him. ( He was under the care of our vet) She agreed to basic bloodwork just in case he needed sedation. They sent ME text wanting to run other tests. I told them ONLY what was authorized.He was picked up. Upon picking him up she was pushed MULTIPLE times to have his thyroid checked. She assured them she would, as her vet was going to be out in 2 days. They also said the report would be to our vet the following day.Two days later our vet came for the appointment and still no report was in her hands. This cat is usually mild mannered and outgoing. This poor cat was shaking during our vets exam of him (Something he has NEVER done before. He has been to VEG before and they said he was very easy).His reaction leads me to believe he was treated very roughly. He is truly scared.I used to hear that Iron Horse was a compassionate, caring place, but following this visit, I'm not so sure.This is not my firsr encounter. I took a treminally ill cat there for an ultrasound. (A confirnation of what we already suspected) I took him home because i already had an appointment with my vet for a home euthanasia. I was made to feel guilty and like I was a bad person.I'm beginning to think there are "quotas" to be met and that compassion handling the animals os lacking. I hope I am wrong.

I have taken my ill pups to Iron Horse for years. This last time in early December 2024, the staff again was not only helpful but also compassionate and highly competent. I highly recommend Iron Horse!
