My fur-baby developed diarrhea early in the week and after reading countless reviews for neighboring emergency vet clinics, I felt inclined to trust Ironhorse with my dog’s care. I called at the crack of dawn and spoke to Kay (I’m terrible with names so apologies if I got the staff mixed up!) who provided exceptional customer service over the phone and eased my panic. She recommended the best drop off time for us. I came early in the morning and the staff assisted with check-in which was very streamlined given Covid concerns. We didn’t wait too long in the car until a technician came out to greet us. My dog was taken to the clinic and Dr. Louis called to discuss concerns. Over the phone, he sounded knowledgeable and experienced and from one clinician to another, provided exceptional rationale to support his treatment plan given his exam and my chief complaint. I instantly trusted his recommendations. The wait for about 3.5 hours which is expected for an emergency clinic given that there were other dogs who arrived in far worse condition than mine. Compared to other clinics in the area, our wait was “short”. The discharge nurse spoke clearly and went over recommendations in detail. I truly wish Ironhorse provided preventative care services as I would transfer care in a heartbeat! Cost was actually reasonable given the treatment plan and that it’s an emergency clinic. Overall, exceptional care, very sweet personnel who clearly love what they do, and a doctor whose recommendations can be trusted without the slightest concern. Hopefully we don’t have to come back! But if we ever need emergency care again I won’t look anywhere else. Thanks Ironhorse for hopefully getting my little girl back on track to feeling better!
