My Chihuahua is 12 years old. He suddenly started making sounds like he wanted to cough something up. We monitored him closely and then he started having difficulty breathing. My vet Paws & Claws, referred me to IronHorse. When I called IronHorse and explained the symptoms they advised me to bring him in immediately. I put my dog in the car and made the 30+ minute drive there. Upon arriving I called and advised which space I was parked in. A technician came running out, opened the car door, picked up the dog and ran off saying someone would be right out to talk to me. About two minutes later, another tech came out and said my dog had been put inside an oxygen kennel because he got there in complete heart failure. I was devastated! It was respectfully explained to me that it was nothing I had done wrong. Chihuahuas at that age are prone to heart problems and the onset is rapid. He remained in the oxygen kennel for 2 1/2 days, he was given the appropriate meds and he was finally released to come home. During the time he was there the staff was very understanding and said I could call as much as I wanted for updates. I called about 3x a day while he was there. I truly believe that my doggie is still alive thanks to the treatment he received at IronHorse. They are an exceptional facility and team!
